Before Traveling Abroad for Your Child Tip #2

Contact your local county and ask about their Early Intervention program.

If you’re in Ohio, you can contact the Job and Family Services Department for more information on the Early Intervention program.  Even if you’re already a parent or you are going to be a brand new parent, it is always good to be prepared.  Though parenting comes instinctively, it also takes time to build.  You want to be able to provide support and help your newly adopted child adapt to changes in a healthy productive way.  Therefore, contacting your local county to ask them about their Early Intervention program is always a safe bet.  They can provide useful information on what you can do and the steps you can take to help your child adjust to the lifestyle here in the U.S.  The program also provides services to help your child to start school healthy and ready to learn.

Give your child a strong foundation, by giving yourself one too.
